In 1995, after over 25 years in the electric utility business, Jim Davidson relocated to Tyler and established Davidson Homes, a building passion he discovered while working with the many residential building suppliers he came into contact with over the years. They taught him the home-building business. He built part-time on the side until he had the opportunity to make it a full-time profession. In 1997, his eldest son Chris, moved from his career in advertising sales in the Beaumont, Texas area to partner up with him.
Chris Davidson literally learned home-building by being at the construction site. From sweeping floors and picking up trash to working his way up the “ladder” of responsibilities, Chris developed a strong work ethic.
